At Computex 2025, Cherry unveiled its first IK inductive switch, cutting power draw by half compared to magnetic options, alongside a preview of the low-latency MK magnetic platform.

At Computex 2025, Cherry introduced a broadened switch portfolio that moves the company beyond traditional mechanical designs. The announcement covered the first IK inductive switch, a preview of the MK magnetic platform, and three new MX mechanical switches: MX Honey, MX Blossom, and MX Falcon.

The IK switch uses Cherry’s inductive sensing. It reads keystrokes by detecting electromagnetic fields, eliminating physical contacts and the wear they cause. Cherry reports power consumption 50 percent lower than magnetic switches and just five percent of that of Hall-effect designs, a specification aimed squarely at battery-powered wireless keyboards. Commercial availability is slated for fall 2025.

Cherry also previewed the MK magnetic line. It uses magnetic actuation and analogue output to reduce latency and widen customisation options. Further technical details remain under wraps, but the preview signals Cherry's intent to compete directly in the performance-focused gaming segment.

On the mechanical side, Cherry expanded its MX2A family. MX Honey is its first silent tactile MX switch. It has a quiet profile, a new spring, and factory lube. It ships in June 2025 with 36-switch consumer packs. That same month, MX Blossom arrives. It requires 35 cN of force—the lightest Cherry’s catalogue—while carrying the same internal upgrades for smoother travel and 100-million-stroke durability.

Finally, MX Falcon joins the lineup. It has a long-pole stem and a sharp tactile bump for a typewriter feel. It gives heavier feedback and a distinct bottom-out. Production starts in early June 2025, and kits will follow.
