Another Casio collaboration watch is on the way in Japan. This time, the watch manufacturer has teamed up with the Wakasa Town Tourism Association and the Tottori Prefecture Regional Education Promotion Bureau.
Casio is working with these organizations to host an experience from July 4th. The event is named the Wakasa Town Romantic Journey Season 2, where participants solve puzzles and collect stamps while visiting local attractions. There will be three routes, with digital stamps stored in the Meguruway smartphone app. Those who visit all locations will be entered into a lottery to win a limited edition G-Shock DW-5600UE watch featuring the Wakasa Town logo.
This version of the G-Shock DW-5600UE has the white logo near the top of the lower resin strap. Above this are the words ‘Tottori Wakasa’, also in white. Otherwise, it appears to be identical to the standard version of the watch, with a black resin casing and band. Features include a 1/100th second stopwatch, a countdown timer, hourly time signals and a multi-function alarm. It is shock resistant, water resistant to 200 m and should run for around five years on its replaceable battery.
It is unclear whether or not participants will also be able to buy this limited edition watch at the Casio booth which will be at the Wakasa Town Summer Fireworks Festival on July 19th. The original version of the Casio G-Shock DW-5600UE watch is available at Amazon US for $66.95.
