Casio US has announced six new G-Shock watches with blue phosphorescent dials as part of the Hidden Glow Volume 2: Sea of Stars series.
The glow-in-the-dark material absorbs light from the sun or lamps and does not require electricity to illuminate the dials in the dark with a glow similar to ocean plankton. Naturally, these G-Shock watches still come equipped with LED lights so owners can see the digital displays. The GA110 model has an auto light feature that automatically turns on the LED when the watch is raised to be read.
The G-Shocks are waterproof to 200 meters (656 ft.) and are built with a rugged design that can withstand drops, shock, and abuse. They use white cases and bands with blue accents inspired by the ocean, a departure from the gray color theme of the original Hidden Glow series. All of the watches come with standard timekeeping features, including a stopwatch, timer, world time, and five daily alarms.
