The Asus AirVision M1 may sound like a competitor to the Apple Vision Pro, but it’s not a mixed-reality device. Instead, it’s a wearable display that equips FHD Micro OLED display tech and requires a connected computer or phone. With a proper connection, this high-tech eyewear can generate multiple virtual screens, allowing users to do many things in a limited space.

Asus has showcased a good number of display products at CES 2024. Among them is the Asus AirVision M1, which is a display for your face. It is a pair of glasses that houses the Micro OLED display tech and can only show content when you connect it to a computer or phone.

That automatically means it’s not a competitor to the Apple Vision Pro or the recently unveiled Sony Spatial XR headset. But it’s definitely competing against the likes of  TCL NXTWear S and RayNeo Air 2 (curr. $339 on Amazon). However, the AirVision M1 does come with some interesting features that make the pair of glasses a bit unique.

At the core, the Asus AirVision M1 comes with a 1080p display with a 57-degree field of view, allowing it to offer a sizeable screen right in front of your eyes. Like the NXTWear glasses, this pair has built-in speakers and relies on a DisplayPort connection over USB Type-C to show content.

But unlike the NXTWear glasses, the AirVision M1 features an embedded touchpad that lets you make different adjustments to the virtual screens. For example, users can pin them in 32:9, 21:9, or 16:9 aspect ratios. The touchpad also allows quick brightness adjustment and activation of the 3D mode.

Asus has yet to offer information on pricing and availability. But it’s worth noting that the TCL NXTWear S currently costs $299, while the NXTWear S Plus debuted with a price tag of $399. You can expect the AirVision M1 to be somewhere around this price range.
