Amazfit Falcon leaks as the alleged product name of the Zepp brand's most premium smartwatch yet
Signs of a new Amazfit smartwatch made of unusually high-end materials and set to launch in 2022 might have invited speculation that it would debut as something like a GTR 4 Pro. However, according to a leak freshly posted in an "exclusive" fashion by GSMArena, the Zepp Health brand has settled on a completely different name for the new wearable instead.
The new leak may prove less than welcome for fans of the code-name of Vienna previously associated with the device, as it is now slated to land as the Falcon instead. It is tipped to soar above even the flagship GTR 3 Pro or newer 4 as the first Amazfit smartwatch with a fully metallic, possibly titanium, bezel.
On the other hand, this rivet-heavy frame is projected to surround a relatively small 1.28-inch, 416x416px AMOLED display. Then again, it is said to have an appreciable 1,000 nits of brightness at the most, and to stay on for up to 14 days between charges.
The 500mAh battery linked to that estimate will, according to a 'Falcon-unboxing' video (full of the brand's latest logos and mottos) also posted by GSMArena to underpin its new claims, charge using what looks like the standard Amazfit charging cradle.
It is also now backed to exhibit all the best specs and features of the T-Rex 2 otherwise, real-time navigation, training templates and advanced GPS included. It is also apparently rated to connect to "professional work-out equipment" and to "live-broadcast sports data".
The "Falcon" is also slated to run Zepp's latest OS out of the box, support a 20ATM ingress-protection rating for watersports and to have 4GB of internal storage. It is also now linked to a launch date only just over a week away: October 13, 2022.
