Acer has announced its return to the smartphone market by introducing two new affordable smartphones: Acerpure Acerone Liquid S162E4 and S272E4. Both of them feature entry-level specs, with the former packing a MediaTek SoC from 2018. While the company hasn't revealed the pricing details of the two, they are expected to cost around $100.
Among the two, the Liquid S162E4 sports a 6.5-inch LCD screen on the front with an HD+ resolution and a 5 MP selfie shooter. On the back, there appears to be a dual-camera setup, but Acer has only shared the details of the primary camera, which is a 16 MP sensor.
Under the hood, it features the MediaTek Helio P35, which is paired with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. A 5,000 mAh battery powers the internals of the Acer Liquid S162E4. Other highlights of the phone include Android 14 out-of-the-box, dual nano SIM slots, and support for FM Radio.
The second phone, Liquid S272E4, has a 6.74-inch LCD display with an HD+ resolution. It also features a 5 MP selfie camera with a waterdrop notch. Like the former, this one sports a dual camera setup as well, but Acer has once again shared the information about the primary shooter, which is a 20 MP sensor.
Acer's Liquid S272E4 has a slightly modern MediaTek SoC, the Helio G36. While this SoC was announced two years ago, it's less capable than the P35. It's paired with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, and the phone boasts a 5,000 mAh battery (Anker Nano curr. $23.99 on Amazon) and runs on Android 14. Both the phones are expected to launch on March 25.
