Toshiba to release the Qosmio X870 gaming laptop with 3D display

Teaser
The high-performance notebook will presumably offer next-generation Intel CPU, NVIDIA GPU, Harman Kardon speakers and a hybrid storage drive

According to the UK site TechDigest, Toshiba is in the process of launching a new 3D-capable gaming laptop, called Qosmio X870. The manufacturer itself has not yet issued a press release about the product, but this will probably happen soon, because the device is set to hit the stores in Q2 of this year.

The report indicates that the X870 will be equipped with an Ivy Bridge Intel Core processor and an LED-backlit Full HD (1920-by-1080 pixels) widescreen display that measures 17.3-inches in diagonal. This 3D-enabled panel (the stereoscopic experience is achievable by using glasses with NVIDIA’s Vision technology) delivers a 5ms response time which might be “vital” when playing an FPS game for example.

The powerful Qosmio will sport an unspecified NVIDIA graphics card that supposedly has 3GB of dedicated VRAM. In addition, the laptop ships with up to 2TB of storage space in form of an HDD, but there will also be an SSD hybrid option.

Connectivity features include Wireless LAN and Bluetooth 4.0 modules accompanied by four USB 3.0 ports (2x Sleep-and-Charge USBs), RGB, HDMI and a headphone/mic port with Sleep-and-Music technology.

Reportedly, users will also be provided with an illuminated keyboard (red), a multitouch click-pad, an optional Blu-ray drive and the above mentioned Harman Kardon speakers. We will let you know when the company makes the Qosmio X870 official.
