Oppo has been busy teasing the R9s lately, letting people know that the Sony IMX 398 sensor will be able to capture amazing pictures thanks to a combination of distinct features like a F/1.7 aperture and dual-core autofocus.

Oppo is focusing on camera quality touting their soon to be released R9s smartphone. New teasers prominently feature the new Sony IMX 398 sensor and the new options it will bring to Oppo customers. A new technology called dual-core autofocus is supposed to offer better and faster focusing than Phase Detection autofocus, especially on fast moving objects. A sample picture of a landing bird captured with the lens on the R9s is supposed to support that claim. Oppo also pushes the F/1.7 aperture of the 16 megapixel back camera, that helps to let more light in and equals the aperture of the camera in the Samsung Galaxy S7

New leaks point to some other exciting features on the R9s. Apparently it will be the second phone that will use Gorilla Glas 5 to protect it from breaking during a fall. Since the Galaxy Note 7 recently got ditched by Samsung, it may now be Oppo's turn to be the first. A new antenna design is said to bring the thickness down to just 6.58 mm while still integrating a 3.010 mAh battery. Oppo apparently also included a 16 megapixel camera on the front, however it might not feature the Sony IMX 398 sensor. The R9s will come with a Snapdragon 625 processor, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage and will be released on October 19th.
