70% Lenovo Flex 3 Chromebook Review: Good Price, Bad Screen

If you’re just using this device to pay bills, email people, and run some YouTube videos, I would say you can. It’ll be a little cramped, but you can. And if you can stomach that, the Flex 3 does deliver some great benefits in other areas, from the great keyboard and convenient ports to the outstanding battery life and respectable audio. In these categories, it rivals or surpasses our top Chromebook pick (the Spin 713). If you’re okay with its flaws, you’ll find that the Flex 3 offers quite a bit for its budget price.

Lenovo Ideapad Flex 3 (11) review – if possible, go for the SSD-equipped models

Well, we think we have put that straight at the beginning of this review, but we’re going to say it again – this laptop is not meant to render complex 3D objects, nor to enable you to play any AAA title out there. Instead, you would want it for an unpretentious daily driver, which also works as a tablet.

However, the Flex 3i doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Lenovo has other Chromebooks in the family and the Flex 3i sits in a difficult place. It’s more expensive than the similar form-factor Chromebook Flex 3 models and is almost as expensive as the larger, more powerful Chromebook Flex 5. If you are looking to use the tablet mode more often, Lenovo offers the Chromebook Duet (currently at a discount), a 10-inch device with a detachable keyboard, MediaTek CPU, USI Pen support, and a sub-$300 price tag. There are also many other manufacturers offering broadly Chromebooks for less than the Chromebook Flex 3i.

Intel UHD Graphics 600: Integrated low-end graphics adapter with DirectX 12 support, which can be found in some ULV SoCs from the Gemini Lake series. Compared to the HD Graphics 500, the 600 offers improved display outputs. Compared to the faster UHD Graphics 605, the 600 offers less shaders at lower clock speeds.

Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.

Celeron N4020: A slow dual-core processor (SoC) of the Gemini Lake refresh product family. The Celeron runs at 1.1 GHz to 2.8 GHz and features a DirectX 12 capable UHD Graphics 600 integrated graphics adapter. This is a standard display format for tablet computers or small convertibles. You see more on the screen than on a smartphone but you can't use big resolutions well. On the other hand, mobility is not a problem.

Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" from English legend, novo (Latin) for new) was founded in 1984 as a Chinese computer trading company. As of 2004, the company was the largest laptop manufacturer in China and, after acquiring IBM's PC division in 2005, the fourth largest in the world. In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company manufactures monitors, projectors, servers, etc, and specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing consumer electronics, personal computers, software, enterprise solutions and related services.

In 2016, the company ranked first in the world in computer sales. It still held it in 2023 with about 23% global market share. Important product lines are Thinkpad, Legion and Ideapad.

In 2011, it acquired a majority stake in Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Motorola Mobility was purchased, which gave Lenovo a boost in the smartphone market.
