The iPhone SE 2, iPhone 9 or iPhone (2020), whatever it ends up being called, has apparently reached the final stage of its development. Mass production may have been underway since the middle of last month, and now it is claimed that the device has entered the final phase of verification. The spiritual successor to the iPhone SE is still expected to launch at the end of this month.

While we still do not know the final name of the iPhone SE 2, or have even received official confirmation of its existence, its release may only be a matter of a few weeks away. The device, which may be called the iPhone 9 or simply the iPhone, is expected to feature an A13 Bionic SoC and the design of the iPhone 8. Touch ID is apparently making a comeback too, with Apple returning to the thick bezels of older iPhones.

Referencing DigiTimes, which cites "industry sources" itself, MacRumors claims that the iPhone SE 2 has "entered the final phase of verification". While neither website has offered any specifics about this, it apparently precedes Apple announcing the device.

The iPhone SE 2 is expected to feature 3 GB of RAM and at least 64 GB of storage, too. Reportedly starting at US$399, the iPhone SE 2 may launch alongside refreshed iMacs, Mac minis and iPad Pros.
