Despite the somewhat annoying camouflage, these latest pictures of the electric Porsche Macan prototype allow another look at the potential exterior design of the sporty SUV from Germany.

In consideration of the frantic growth of the EV market, it’s not exactly a surprise that the German sports-car maker Porsche is working on an all-electric model variant of its most compact SUV, the Porsche Macan. A few months before the official reveal, which is expected to happen later this year, a photographer has once again caught a prototype of the highly anticipated electric SUV on a public road.

Accordingly, Motor1 has recently published high-resolution images of the vehicle in question, which apparently show the partially camouflaged prototype of the electric Porsche Macan during a test drive in Austria. Compared to earlier spy shots and the gorgeous unofficial render picture from last March, these new photos allow for a slightly better look at the Porsche Macan's active rear spoiler, which appears to be set at a steeper angle compared to previous pictures of the electric SUV.

The electric Porsche Macan prototype still features the eye-catching but fairly controversial split headlight design, but its front grille is unfortunately covered up and the German automaker still puts fake exhaust stickers on the back bumper. However, it is already known that the electric SUV is based on Volkswagen's 800-volt PPE platform, which will also be utilized by the upcoming Audi A6 e-tron and allows for quick charging with up to 350 kW.  The electric SUV is further expected to have at least 470 metric horsepower and 800 Nm or 590 lb-ft of torque. After its purported official reveal by the end of the year, the electric Porsche Macan could supposedly hit the EV market in early 2023.
