The update was expected to arrive this month, but now ZTE pushes the launch date of Android 7.0 for the Axon 7 handsets to a later date. Although this date is not public yet, the company says the update should arrive by the end of March.
A few months ago, ZTE promised to deliver the Android 7.0 Nougat firmware to Axon 7 devices in January. Recently, a Nougat beta program for Axon 7 users in the US has started, but new registrations are no longer accepted. Sadly, it looks like the long-awaited update has been delayed a few weeks, if not almost two months.
According to ZTE Germany, Axon 7 handset owners will have to wait for the update because the current state of the new firmware has quality issues. These problems have not been revealed, but ZTE says Android Nougat would arrive by the end of this quarter to Axon 7 devices.
The good part of the delay is that, since the update promises to come with Google Daydream support, ZTE will skip Android 7.0 and Axon 7 users should get ready to receive Android 7.1.1. Remains to see if the update arrives in the coming month or ZTE does its best to keep the promise and to spend all the available time to refine the firmware, delivering it at the end of March.

In my early school days, I hated writing and having to make up stories. A decade later, I started to enjoy it. Since then, I published a few offline articles and then I moved to the online space, where I contributed to major websites that are still present online as of 2021 such as Softpedia, Brothersoft, Download3000, but I also wrote for multiple blogs that have disappeared over the years. I've been riding with the Notebookcheck crew since 2013 and I am not planning to leave it anytime soon. In love with good mechanical keyboards, vinyl and tape sound, but also smartphones, streaming services, and digital art.
