Xiaomi releases new compact tablet in Europe with affordable pricing

A few weeks have passed since Xiaomi released the Redmi Pad 2 9.7 in any capacity. To recap, the tablet was listed first in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand with optional 4G connectivity as a smaller alternative to the Redmi Pad 2 (curr. $175 on Amazon). Shortly afterwards, Xiaomi confirmed that both variants were set to receive global launches.
Now, the Redmi Pad 2 9.7 has reached Europe in a choice of two memory configurations and two colours. The same is true in Australia and Turkey, too. However, Xiaomi is not selling the tablet with 4G connectivity in any of these countries yet, though. Instead, the Redmi Pad 2 9.7 is currently limited to its Wi-Fi-only variant.
Additionally, Xiaomi includes a 7,600 mAh battery, a Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 chipset with a 9.7-inch IPS display. For reference, the latter outputs at 2,048 x 1,280 pixels with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 600 nits peak brightness and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Moreover, Xiaomi pre-installs HyperOS 3 runnning Android 16.
The Redmi Pad 2 9.7 starts at €159.99 with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. At the time of writing, Xiaomi charges €20 extra for twice as much storage but the same amount of RAM. Meanwhile, the new tablet starts at AUD 299 in Australia and TRY 7,299 in Turkey with a case included. Please see Xiaomi's website for more details.
