Xiaomi: New Bluetooth speaker fits in electric car and is IP66 certified
In addition to smartphones, Xiaomi also offers a wide range of accessories. These include audio solutions and, last but not least, Bluetooth speakers (such as the Xiaomi Mi Portable Bluetooth speaker). To this end, Xiaomi has just unveiled a new Bluetooth speaker that is characterized by high output power and playback quality.
This particular Bluetooth speaker is not only suitable for camping, but also offers good playback quality for home environments. The total output of the audio system is specified as 40 watts, and Xiaomi advertises it an all-round sound system that produces good audio quality thanks to Harman AudioEFX.
The Bluetooth speaker measures 125 x 85 x 146.7 mm (L x W x H) and weighs 1.12 kg, making it a rather compact Bluetooth speaker. The battery capacity is specified as 27.36 Wh, with a possible battery life of over 10 hours. It can be charged via USB-C with a charging power of up to 18 watts. The same power can also be used for charging via pogo pins, namely in Xiaomi's SU7 electric car. There, the speaker fits into the central storage compartment.
A useful feature for a speaker that tends to be used more frequently outdoors is the IP66 certification, which means that the model should be protected against damage caused by dust and water ingress. Connections to external players are established via Bluetooth 5.3, with LHDC 5.0 support. The pairing process is particularly easy to set up via NFC. Lastly, an LED light is on board and provides light for the evenings.
In China, the speaker is available for the equivalent of around $100; information on an international release is not yet available.
