It seems like only yesterday that Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus smartphones dominated the benchmarks, but along came the Xiaomi Mi 6. Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship’s benchmark results appeared on Geekbench, besting those of the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus by a noticeable margin. While the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus scored 1929 and 6084 in single-core and multi-core results, respectively, while the Xiaomi Mi 6 scored 2006 for the single-core result and 6438 for the multi-core result.
The Geekbench data confirms multiple leaks detailing the specs of the phone. The benchmarked model of the Xiaomi Mi 6 uses the Snapdragon 835 SoC with the Adreno 540 GPU and 6GB of RAM. It is also running Android 7.1.1 Nougat. There will be other Mi 6 variants such as one with 4GB of RAM and the option of 64GB or 128GB of storage. Speculators say that if users want to have 6GB of RAM, they’ll probably need to purchase the slightly larger Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus.
Thanks to plenty of rumors, the launch date and expected hardware features have already spread widely, such as the Mi 6 getting a 5.1-inch FHD display while the Mi 6 Plus gets a QHD 2K OLED display with dual curved edges and dual rear camera. The Mi 6 Plus may also get a 4000mAh battery.
