Vivo unveils smartphone with 10,000 mAh battery and IP69 rating for the equivalent of $399

Vivo's latest mid-range smartphone aims to stand out primarily with one of the largest batteries in this segment. Vivo equips it with a battery with a capacity of 10,000 mAh, which is said to allow 30 hours of TikTok video streaming. Vivo advertises not only long battery life, but also a long lifespan – the battery is said to retain 80 percent of its original capacity after 1,400 charging cycles.
Despite its very large battery, the Vivo S2 FE is not particularly thick or heavy, measuring 8.69 millimeters thick and weighing 225 grams, thanks in part to a plastic frame and back. The casing is IP69-certified and therefore waterproof. Vivo equips it with a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel featuring a resolution of 2,800 x 1,260 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a full-screen brightness of 2,000 nits.
The optical fingerprint sensor is integrated into the display. The 32-megapixel selfie camera sits in a centered punch-hole. The square camera module on the back houses a 50 MP f/1.8 main camera based on the Sony IMX852 sensor, as well as a 2 MP camera. A MediaTek Dimensity 7300e provides the necessary performance, paired with 6 GB to 8 GB of RAM.
Pricing and availability
The Vivo S2 FE will launch first in India, where the mid-range smartphone will be available from October 20, either with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage for ₹38,999 ($399), or with 8 GB of RAM for ₹42,999 ($449).
