Reviews for the Vivo V29
Source: 91mobiles

The Vivo V29, priced from Rs 32,999 and available in India, offers an enticing package featuring a robust design, a vibrant 3D AMOLED curved display, and impressive camera capabilities, especially in well-lit conditions. While it shares many features with its Pro counterpart, the slight compromise in the chipset and depth sensor is noticeable. The device captures portraits with a slight distortion around the edges of the subject. Additionally, its performance feels slightly underwhelming especially when compared to some of its competitors, like the OnePlus Nord 3 5G (review). That being said, the Vivo V29 performs admirably in everyday tasks and multitasking. It also excels in battery life and fast charging speeds. If you seek a smartphone with a focus on design and camera quality, the Vivo V29 proves to be a strong contender within its price range.

Overall, the Vivo V29 is a well-balanced premium midrange phone. It’s a reliable choice for those seeking an attractive design and good cameras. Plus it’s worth noting that Vivo hasn’t overpriced the V29 in Nepal, as its prices here are similar to those in India. However, if a clean user software experience is more important to you, then Samsung Galaxy A54, Nothing Phone (1), and Honor 90 might be better choices. The Vivo V29 gains quite of a balance with a punchy curved AMOLED display, punchy cameras and the decent horsepower of the Snapdragon 778 chipset. It's a pretty ideal phone for multimedia usage and some social media-ready snaps. The 4600mAh battery lasts a bit less than the competition but a 80W inbox charger is appreciable. Overall, a fairly balanced premium midranger from Vivo.

The vivo V29 5G is a reliable smartphone with excellence in some areas, but it has its caveats. Starting from RM1,899, it still sets a relatively high standard for midrange smartphones, and it’s clear that this is meant for those who prioritize the camera above all else, both front and back, with its Aura Light 2.0 taking it to the next level.

Only months after launching the V27 Pro and V27, Vivo comes back with the V29 as yet another option, giving its V-Series a fair bit of attention. Releasing successive models within the same calendar year is unusual for any brand, but Vivo seems to think pumping them out in shorter cycles is serving a market that wants them. What’s increasingly evident is that Vivo continues to funnel camera features from its X-Series flagships to mid-rangers like the V29. The odd product and launch cycle aside, the generous allocation of resources is such that this phone would be a serious contender against the typical mid-range choices in markets like North America. Most may never see it in action, which is a shame because performance and output tell a compelling story.

With all of the changes, the vivo V29 5G takes everything we liked about the V27 Series and takes it one step further. As for the price, it didn’t change too much either. The all-new V29 retails starts at PHP 24,999 for the 12GB+256GB variant, making it the same price as its predecessor. Meanwhile, the 12GB+512GB variant that we have retails for PHP 26,999. If you’re interested, the phone is now on available in all vivo Concept Stores, dealers, and kiosks nationwide, as well as on Shopee, Lazada, TikTok, and the vivo Philippines official website. So what do you think of the vivo V29? If you weren’t able to buy the V27, is this something you would consider? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

So that was the all-new Vivo V29 that shined well in pretty much every aspect. I loved the design and in-hand feel of the phone. The curved display makes the content computation really good. While the battery backup isn’t really the best, the 80W fast charging support is good enough. Moreover, the performance is quite good as well. I did not face any issues while using it during my review period. All in all, the Vivo V29 seems like a solid mid-range phone that is made for those who love photography.

So, should you buy the V29 series? The short answer to this is – Yes. Both Vivo V29 and Vivo V29 Pro are powerful mid-rangers with impressive performance and great camera features. If you are a photography lover, you are in for a treat. And if you want to buy a smartphone that will let you play games as well as enjoy some OTT content worrying much about the battery, this is a complete package.

If you missed out on buying the vivo V27 5G and would like to own a gorgeous, sleek device, you’re better off getting the vivo V29 5G instead. The V29 5G upgrades all the best features of its predecessor to give users a more refined smartphone experience. We are still in love with the slim form factor, immersive screen, and powerful cameras.

As for the price, the vivo V29 is priced at Php. 24,999 for the 12GB+256GB storage, and Php 26,999 for the 12GB + 512GB storage and is a solid upgrade from the vivo V27. Aside from the upgraded camera performance, you get a lightweight design and an impressive quality display. The only downside for us would be the chipset, they could have opted for a different chip so that they could also accommodate gaming just like the V27. But if you are not into heavy gaming, and you usually play casual games then I think this would be enough.

All in all, the vivo V29 5G has plenty of potential. In particular, the Starry Purple variant has an attractive design. The camera lighting and colour adjustment features are also great for portrait shots or vlogs. Interested?

The camera system is universally capable, with some particularly good selfies, dependable low-light performance and a unique temperature-changing flood light that can also be game-changing for your low-light portraits. All things considered, the vivo V29 may not be the most value you can extract from its price tag, but it just might be able to justify the premium.

Unboxing the Vivo V29 with a full test of that impressive camera tech, gaming performance and beyond. If your priority is having one of the best camera phones for a mid-range price, the Vivo V29 is a pro that rivals the Pixel 7a. So here's everything you need to know and my early review of this stunning smartphone. The 50MP Quad Bayer primary camera is a pleasure to use, adapting automatically to all kinds of tricky shooting conditions. The Vivo V29 can even snap decent looking pics in near darkness thanks to the Aura Light flash. This is brighter than before with full manual control over the colour temperature. As well as a cracking camera, this mid-range phone also boasts good performance and dependable battery life. You have the FunTouch OS so the Vivo V29 is packed with good gaming features, and the likes of Genshin Impact can run on medium detail with a smooth frame rate (just don't bump the graphics to high).

The Vivo V29 is one of those interesting smartphones that makes a big play on a single feature – selfie quality. That it then is hugely successful as a general camera phone, with mostly good looks, dependable battery life and a bright, detailed screen is a testament to its overall quality. But for a better speaker setup, a bit more power or longer software support, it would be an instant recommendation.
