AMDs Ryzen 9 7945 HX and RTX 4090 in the ROG Zephyrus Duo 16
The 2023 Zephyrus Duo does not only come with Nvidia's mobile flagship, the laptop RTX 4090 but also dials things up to eleven in the CPU-department as well. With a total of 16 cores, Team Red's Ryzen 9 7945 HX aims to steal the performance and efficiency crown from Intel.
As one of the very first notebooks in our studio, the Zephyrus Duo was the perfect platform to dissect AMDs new Zen 4 platform thoroughly. The high-end mobile processor definitely did not disappoint. But of course, an RTX 4090 equipped notebook that sports one of the best displays for gaming and content creation atop a second pen- and touch-enabled second screen has much more to offer than just pure CPU grunt.

Usually my first coffee is accompanied by photoshop on my pc for the majority of my workday. After an average of 5 cups and about 8-10h later I switch from the adobe suite to steam or the xbox game pass. I startet my career as a professional retoucher more than 10 years ago still on a mac. After a few years I transitioned back to windows machines for a number of reasons. The new found freedom when it comes to hardware got me into building my own workstations and also allowed me to get familier with professional grade laptops and well, it also got me gaming again. Since my job only requires a speedy laptop and reliable internet connection, I took full advantage of it and travelled all over the world while working remotely.
