It's not the best built budget phone but the Vernee Apollo Lite has much to offer inside, including plenty of grunt. If your needs are great and your budget small, this sub-£200 deca-core phone is worthy of your consideration.

If there is one word to describe the Vernee Apollo Lite, it will be “overload”. The features of this phablet are in many ways on constant overdrive. At first glance, it bears the form of an average phablet. Yet it shifts away from a budget-looking profile despite it being reasonably priced. Its sturdy metal frame gives it a solid and resilient feel. The phone rests comfortably in the palms when gripped. The dimensions measure at 152 x 76.2 x 9.2 mm and it weighs 175g (with battery). It is equipped with a 5.20-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1.080 x 1.920 pixels at a PPI of 401 pixels per inch. Text and images appear sharp and clear on its display. The Apollo Lite is also protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 2.5D Touch Panel, thus making the Apollo Lite more durable.
The device runs on stock Android 6.0 OS (Marshmallow). Performance-wise, it is powered by the impressive Helio X20 (MT6797) Deca-core chipset with 4GB of RAM. Its benchmark clocks almost 100000 on AnTuTu score. This feature allows Vernee to tagline the Apollo Lite as being “more than faster”. The internal storage of the Apollo Lite has the capacity of 32 GB which is expandable up to 128 GB. Its 16MP Samsung rear facing snapper combined with a 5MP front camera boost its capacity of delivering crystal-clear photos with multiple functions and modes. The rear facing camera has an aperture of f2.0 which is capable of low-light shooting and is paired with a dual LED flash. It is also capable of 4K video recording. A fingerprint sensor fitted on board allows gestures to be easily customized for unlocking purposes and ID recognition, thus improving security and convenience. This will work well with Windows Hello function.
With a 3180mAh Li-polymer battery and MTK patented Pump Express 3.0 technology, it takes only 30 minutes to charge Apollo Lite from 0 to 50 percent of its capacity. The IGZO screen also contributes to the energy efficiency of the Apollo Lite. A Type-C port fitted allows faster data transfer and charger. It is also OTG supported. Vernee ships the Apollo Lite in dual-sim mode with both SIM slots compatible with 4G. Connectivity is supported by WiFi, A-GPS and Bluetooth. The two colour variants available are moonlight silver and space gray. The Apollo Lite will certainly appeal to those who are budget-conscious. Despite it being labelled ‘lite’, substantially it is anything but.

It is a very small display format for smartphones. You should by no means be mis-sighted and you will generally see very little on the screen and only have a small resolution available. In return, the device should be very small and handy.
» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.73.25%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
