Verizon's Galaxy Note 4 received the long-awaited Android 5.0 Lollipop update about two weeks ago and now the time has come for the previous flagship phablet from Samsung, the Galaxy Note 3. Other carriers such as Sprint already released Android 5.0 for these devices.
The new Galaxy Note 3 firmware unleashed by Verizon Wireless carries build number LRX21V.N900VVRUEOB6 and, like all the other similar updates released by other carriers for this phablet, comes with a rich set of new features, improvements, and bug fixes, including the below:
- Material Design UI - 3D views, fluid animation effects, new themes, improved interaction with the user
- Smart Lock and enhanced notifications
- Floating action button
- the ability to connect to wearables, smart TVs, and even car multimedia/satnav systems
- optimized battery use
The update can be performed as usual, after receiving the automatic notification. Since this firmware update is only a few hours old, those who did not get any notification yet can run a manual check (Settings> About phone> Software updates) to initiate the update.
