Sony's Flip line of convertible laptops contained 13", 14" and 15" varieties before the 11A was announced last month at CES, and the family is now all together. Beginning today, the 11.6" notebook/tablet is available for purchase, with Sony charging $799.
Similar to the other Flip notebooks, the 11A uses a separate joint for all convertible activity, relieving some of the stress on the oft-used hinge between the display and keyboard. As for the inside, Sony has outfitted the device with a 2.16GHz Intel Pentium N3520 CPU, a 128GB SSD, 4GB of RAM and Windows 8.1. Intel HD Graphics also work to power the 11.6" display, which is of the IPS variety and features a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels.
Of note, the VAIO Flip notebooks are made to work with Sony's Active Pen, a pressure-sensitive digitizer that is sold separately for $39.99. The company is also bundling in Adobe Photoshop Elements with the laptop, and interested parties within the US can capitalize today.
