Up to $200: Claude AI giving away free credits for Pro & Max users

Claude AI has certainly been making waves lately. Anthropic’s current gesture of offering free extra usage credits to existing users feels like a welcome attempt at damage control. Following the massive source code leak of Claude Code, the company has faced heavy criticism for its aggressive wave of DMCA takedown notices, which inadvertently took down thousands of legitimate repositories in what many perceived as a deliberate attempt at a cover-up.

Depending on your subscription level, a corresponding credit will be applied to your account. The Pro tier receives a $20 bonus (approx. €17), while the Max tier includes $100 in free credits (approx. €85). The greatest benefit goes to the $200 tier, which sees a credit of $200 (approx. €170). In addition to these bonuses, a simultaneous promotion is offering up to 30% off if you need to purchase even more usage capacity.

Claude remains a versatile tool, whether it’s for generating code, drafting content, brainstorming ideas, or streamlining tedious routine tasks. It is well worth checking your account to see if you can top up your balance.

Important Note: Several users on the German deal platform MyDealz—who originally subscribed via PayPal—are reporting issues. To claim the gift, Anthropic requires "Extra Usage" to be enabled, which currently necessitates a credit card on file. Without a card, accessing the free credits appears to be impossible at this time.

Furthermore, it is highly recommended to disable the "Extra Usage" feature once the free credits have been exhausted. Since this feature is designed to automatically charge you for continued work once your limit is reached, things could get unexpectedly expensive otherwise. Applications for these credits must be submitted by 11:59 PM (local time) on 17 April 2026.
