Ulefone Armor 2
The Ulefone Armor 2 impresses with some mid-to-high level hardware and comes with a full IP68 rating that offers waterproofness up to a depth of 1.5 meters for a full 60 minutes. It is a serious outdoor smartphone and is far too heavy (270 grams) and bulky for the civilized world of offices and laptops. This phone is meant to be thrown around and submerged every day. Whether the user is a fan of the walkie-talkie smartphone or not, the Armor 2 packs some serious defenses. The top and bottom sections are made from high-density plastic that will ward off drops while absorbing impacts. Holding it together are metal side panels which are part of the extremely strong metal frame. All this extra armor is what brings the rugged Ulefone Armor 2’s weight up to nearly 300 grams, and that is with only a tiny 5″ display squeezed in. The color variants offered are gold and grey. Ulefone has opted to go with a Sharp display inside the Armor 2, as it offers good viewing angles, works well in sunlight, and the 1920×1080 resolution is super crisp at 441 PPI. However, unlike the S60, which offers Gorilla Glass 5, the Armor 2 only has Gorilla Glass 3. Users also have the option to use onscreen buttons or stick with the capacitive buttons at the bottom and the fingerprint reader for the home button.
The device is no wimp in the hardware department either, as it packs 6GB of RAM, 64GB of storage and the octa-core (big.LITTLE) MediaTek Helio P25 CPU. While it is not one of the top-tier MediaTek chips, it is still a very capable chip that offers speedy performance. The Helio P25 CPU comes with 8 cores split into two groups. Group one runs at 2.6GHz and crushes any intensive tasks using its binary might. Group 2 runs at the slower speed of 1.6GHz and takes cares of all the easy day-to-day tasks. This has the benefit of offering more power savings and longer battery life. The Ulefone Armor 2 also has the ARM Mali T880 Graphics Unit on the Helio P25 chip, which performs well with the latest 3D gaming titles, making the Armor 2 a great option for gamers. Although the Ulefone Armor 2 boasts a 16MP rear-facing camera, the end results are not very impressive. Images tend to look soft and a little washed out. Getting the focus right can be difficult and colors in the final photos are not very punchy. It is not the worst Android camera, but it is nowhere near on par with others in its price range.

According to Ulefone, the notch in the Armor 5 is a distinguishing characteristic that makes it stand out among outdoor smartphones. We clarify in our test whether this is really the only thing that distinguishes the Armor 5 from the other robust smartphones.

The iPhone-style notch display is one way of minimising the bulk of this trim and tough handset. It feels robust, looks good and makes room for a large battery that fast charges via a USB-C port.

Ulefone Armor 3
I have never heard of Ulefone before and pretty sure most of you didn't either. Of course I saw some articles about how though their smartphones are, but wasn't really interested. But lately I started to be interested in niche devices and thought you might be as well. Rugged phones are becoming more and more apparent and we see manufacturers like Ulefone, Panasonic just emphasizing on them. They are still niche segments to be honest. Their usage is fairly limited, only for people in extreme conditions. So, how does a device become so though? We all know about Gorilla glass screens, IP68 certification against dust and water, but there is one more. A military certification. Yup, that’s what they call it. It can resist falls, extreme temperatures, basically all kind of situations where you don’t want your current fragile phone to be. So what to expect from this kind of a device besides being too strong? Well, I guess not much. Meaning, you are on top of mount everest and suddenly you feel the urge to play a game? Besides being though, the Ulefone Armor 3 is kind of a mid-range maybe even low mid-range smartphone. Of course you can watch movies, do surfing without any problems. But, well is this going to be why you want this phone? A great feature in my opinion is its 1,0300 Mah battery, which will keep you for about 3-4 days without needing to charge. Price wise, it starts from 250 Euros. I think considering all the certifications it has and the conditions this device can endure, it is fair. For instance, just think about all the times where you dropped your phone and you had to replace the screen? It wouldn't have happened with the Ulefone 3 Armor. Having said that, I am not sure if it is something that you want to carry in your pocket all time. Because it is heavy and it cant be considered a fashionable device. I find device like these interesting. I am not sure if anyone out there will pick it just for day-to-day use, but if you are someone that drops his/her phone all the time or goes out running / hiking / climbing and want to have their smartphone with all times, you can give the Ulefone Armor 3 a try. Its price tag is similar to all mid-range phones, maybe behind in hardware. But still, it will be cheaper than breaking your phone and paying up again. For a bit over £200 (or $260), it is a nice piece of expertise that provides you most of what a way more costly system can provide, and some issues they typically can’t.The battery life, digital camera, display and storage capability are all excellent, ticking most of the bins that persons are most involved about. If you need a robust cellphone for a seashore vacation, snowboarding or trekking journey, then this one could be a really prudent alternative.

The Chinese company has remained true to this concept with the Armor 3T but has added a walkie-talkie function, which is somewhat novel. Ulefone's latest rugged phone is super-tough and oddly attractive. Combining a durable build with long battery life, modern comforts and mid-range performance it has a lot to offer. In a future version we'd like to see the port cover and legends removed, the speaker re-positioned and improvements to the camera, but it's hard to find fault at this price.

The Ulefone Armor 6E is strongly related to the Armor 6 and even the packaging's differences come down to just one sticker. The Armor 6E is cheaper and while it offers less storage space, it also comes with a more modern SoC and better protection against the elements. In this review, we are taking a look at the outdoor smartphone in order to determine if this makes it a bargain.

If there are any active negatives to the phone beyond it not being the greatest thing since sliced bread, they would be the lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack (although you can use a USB-C adapter like later iPhones), and the fact that it got stuck on Game Mode – an alternative home screen layout – with no obvious way to disable it.

The phone is a chunky beast, but it doesn’t feel particularly bulky to hold or carry. It also runs very well, no doubt in part due to the fact that its CPU is in fact more powerful than that of the Armor 6 – a Helio P70 in comparison to the latter’s P60. The camera is solid if unremarkable, with a variety of modes that you probably won’t find yourself using because of the not-quite stellar quality, but the 6E also comes with a nifty UV sensor and barometer – making it good for taking on extended outdoor trips.

You can see Ulefone has put commendable efforts on all fronts, including the impressive retail package, and we liked what we saw a lot. And that's why it's just mind-blogging how the maker did not consider the complications of the fingerprint reader and function key positions. And even then, it's still one of the best rugged phones you can get today.

So here we have it, the Armor 10, the first 5G rugged smartphone. Ulefone has set the benchmark for this category quite high and others will have to deliver very good products in order to match it. However, the wider issue remains the necessity of 5G when - for many applications - 4G is still plenty.

A thermal imaging camera is a popular feature of the Ulefone Armor 11T phone. That’s what makes the phone unique in the market. As you can see, this phone comes with many amazing features that are very useful regardless of the users. Although you won’t get a better view, you will have some other brilliant features that are simultaneously exciting. The battery is also a powerful combination with this phone, but the fast charger could be improved a little more, even the screen too. Looks like you’re buying a low-budget smartphone at a high price. Otherwise, it’s good to have an excessive storage capacity, recognizable cameras by remarkable AI. If you are involved with any kind of heavy lifting then the Armor 11T might be a better choice for you if you can handle the budget as it is not for everyone to digest. If you are looking for an alternative you can check the Energizer Hard Case G5 smartphone.

The Ulefone Armor 11 looks like it offers a considerable amount of features for a rugged phone. It packs a large battery, an IP68/IP69K rating, and a night vision camera, but those features don’t make up for the obvious shortcomings. If you are looking for a rugged phone that’s built to last and has moderately decent features, then the Ulefone Armor 11 isn’t it. While battery and processor performance are both stellar, the extremely cheap build quality and poor night vision camera make the phone hard to recommend. The steep $579 price doesn’t help either, and you would be better off looking at alternatives such as the Cat S62 Pro ($649) or the Doogee S96 Pro ($389). Both offer a better overall experience and cost less. Unfortunately for Ulefone, the Armor 11 is a big miss.

The Ulefone Armor 8 Pro delivers the strict minimum to get good grades. It is keenly priced and packs a surprisingly high RAM capacity but its screen resolution, camera sensors and antiquated Bluetooth means that you may want to spend a bit more to get a better all round experience.

Ulefone has added yet another handset to its bulging portfolio; the Armor 12 5G is the cheapest 5G rugged handset we have tested to date but that doesn’t mean that it lacks unique selling points. Ulefone innovated by radically changing the design of the Armor 12 to something a bit more refreshing, at the same time, it added an antibacterial product (composite silver ion) as well as adding two speakers for improved audio performance. Add five camera sensors, wireless charging and a larger than average battery and you have a rugged smartphone that’s worthy of interest. Its low resolution and the use of the slower Dimensity 700 processor are the two potential blots on an otherwise great spec sheet. As for the competition, other than the fabulous Nokia XR20 (far more expensive and a tad slower but also protected by a three-year warranty), there’s the Doogee V10 ($260 at the time of writing and next on our review list) and the Oukitel WP13 ($240).

The Ulefone Armor 15 is drop and water resistant and even comes with its own completely wireless in-ear headphones. The manufacturer thus pushes both dimensions and weight to the extreme, but launches a comprehensive overall package - at a still affordable price.
Source: Android Central
The Ulefone Armor 15 has a good number of features for a rugged phone, with the built-in wireless earbuds being the standout. It also has a large battery and an IP68/IP69K rating, but these features are insufficient to compensate for the phone's shortcomings. Although rugged phones don't typically have the most vivid screens, the HD screen, and slow performance ruin the fun. If you're looking for a rugged phone with good features, the Ulefone Armor 15 should be on your short list. While the screen and processor performance are both disappointing, the phone's extremely sturdy build quality and decent main camera make it easy to recommend.

So, should you buy the Ulefone Armor 15? If you’re looking for a sleek, smooth, powerful, flagship device, I wouldn’t recommend the Armor 15 for you. Frankly it’s an ugly design, slow performer, and just plain chunky. But alternatively, for those not glued to their phone—if you’re an outdoors person, traveler, or manual worker just looking for a durable, rugged, waterproof, long-lasting phone that’s there when you need it—this may be the device for you. Those flashy, distracting, expensive glass phones can sometimes get in the way, and require more attention and care in the long run. The durable and long-lasting Ulefone Armor 15 will just get the job done.

To put it bluntly, this isn’t the most powerful rugged phone Ulefone has made, although because the interface is reasonably snappy, most users will be gloriously unaware of its limitations, at least initially. Other limitations include the inability to capture better than 1080p video, no 5G comms, and only 480p streaming of Netflix. These are mostly issues to do with the Helio G35 SoC, and its use of the ARM Cortex-A53 that needs to be put out to pasture. The inclusion of the integrated Earbuds is a nice touch, but it appears that Ulefone doesn’t list replacements should you accidentally break or lose them. Overall, the Armor 15 doesn’t take enough steps forward and suffers in comparison with the cheaper Power Armor 14 Pro(opens in new tab) design. Inevitably Ulefone will make a Pro model that addresses some of these issues, but probably not all of them.

For those who saw the 16 Pro and assumed this would be more of the same, this is a surprise. A more expensive design with a smaller battery but otherwise much higher specification. Still, it’s one of the cheaper options for those that want an Helio G99-powered phone.

If I had to choose one of the best-rugged phones in 2022, Armor 17 Pro would be one of the candidates, makes a good impression, and has got a rendition of the rugged phone design. And there is no doubt that the Ulefone Armor 17 Pro holds all the ingredients to be a leading rugged smartphone in this price category. And what really distinguishes it from any other phone is its large 6.58-inch FHD 120Hz Display ensures an enjoyable viewing and good use of the latest Android 12 features and long-lasting battery with speedy charging support that you will not need to charge while you are on a safari or camping with friends, or just finding a gadget for your daily work, it will be a reliable companion, especially with the build quality and durability, and the best protection certificates for a smartphone against water, dust, and even shocks, And the most important in my opinion the 108MP cameras, with good performance making it to perform for all tasks. in addition to the quality infrared night vision camera that will be a great help for those who work or deal in dark environments. And there are many attractive features, and most importantly, it is affordable. Despite the many features that we mentioned, the Ulefone Armor 17 Pro looks like a fairly balanced device and positioned itself as one of the top contenders for the title of the best affordable rugged phone on the market, with features perfect for anyone who needs a rugged phone at this time.

After going through each of the sections, the Ulefone Armor 17 Pro is a great package as a mid-ranger smartphone. It got a decent display with a faster refresh rate, good enough processing power with 4G connectivity, presentable camera quality, and a long-lasting battery with speedy charging support. All of those are green flags for normal users, while at the same time, the protection features are fabulous as usual. Though like most Ulefone phones, they might not appear on the global market soon. But, you can check the availability from the official website. In that case, if you can let go of the protection support, there are tons of other options offered in the mid-range such as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro with high-end specs. But still, if you are an armored phone fan, none is stopping you to purchase this phone.
