The Ulefone Armor Mini 20T Pro represents a new generation of rugged designs that deliver many signature features in a substantially more compact form. However, making smaller, rugged designs isn't an exclusive idea for Ulefone. The alternatives that come to mind are the Blackview N6000, Doogee Smini, and Unhertz Tank Mini. The Unihertz Tank Mini costs around $250 for a similar phone without thermal imaging. That's the same price as the Doogee Smini, another compact option with a smaller battery but a similar performance profile. Similarly, the Blackview N6000 is a paired-down option with a lower battery size and no thermal imaging, but it is only a little over 200g, making it both lighter and cheaper at just over $200.

The Ulefone Armor Mini 20T Pro is an interesting device - it is a small yet rugged phone, one of the toughest on the market, probably. It has a professional thermal FLIR camera and an incredibly bright multi-purpose LED flash on the back. It is not a very fast phone, nor one with a great display. It is a work phone, a tool if you will, one that will serve right but will not entertain. And if you are looking for a compact yet multifunctional smartphone with a FLIR camera, this is probably the one to get. It costs about €430, which is a tempting price for such a powerful feature set.

Overall, the Ulefone Armor Mini 20T Pro is a compact option in the rugged smartphone segment. If you are interested in that feature, feel free to purchase this phone. But as usual, if you don’t like bulky phones with mediocre hardware performance, then it might not be the right choice. Gaming is barely possible on this phone, while photography isn’t that great either. But, the battery life is worth praising. It’s clear that the company released this phone to compete against the Blackview N6000 and Doogee SMini. Both are equipped with rugged bodies with their unique offering.

I've tested some monster phones that are so heavy and awkward that they're borderline impractical, but the Ulefone Armor Mini 20 Pro isn't one of those. That makes it a handy device without the caveats of needing a large pocket or being excessively heavy. The phone performance is decent, while the cameras are workable but not cutting-edge. A bigger issue for this reviewer is that the relatively small screen can be challenging for those with chorizo-sized fingers, especially if they have a lot of text to input by hand. Most people will not expect the case kit, as once placed in this device, the screen isn't accessible. Unfortunately, because the Mini 20 Pro doesn't have a symmetrical shape around the sides, it isn't possible to reverse the phone in the case to make the screen visible.

77.13%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
