Buzzing companion. Until now, processors from the Haswell generation were only rarely found in 15-inch business laptops. Toshiba rocks the market with its Tecra A50 - and wants to eliminate the precursor's problems at the same time.

Quiet demeanor. Toshiba has refreshed its affordable Tecra A50 lineup with the thinner and sleeker A50-C series. Unfortunately, the manufacturer has a long way to go to catch up to the likes of Dell, HP, or Lenovo in the business space.

The Toshiba Tecra A50-C can handle most physical challenges. Certainly that is a strong selling point. However, many users don't need a tough laptop. They just need one that works – and works cheaply. Users who value a great external build and port diversity will love the Tecra A50-C and its budget price. But those who don't will find that there are more budget-friendly options available.

The Toshiba Tecra A50 offers average performance, slightly better than average battery life for its size and a pretty comfy keyboard. Some business users will definitely appreciate the optical drive. However, this laptop's dim, low-res display and mediocre storage drive make it a less-than-stellar choice.

Intel HD Graphics 520: Integrated GPU (GT2) with 24 EUs found on some Skylake CPU models (15 W ULV series).

Intel UHD Graphics 620: Integrated GPU (GT2, 24 EUs) found on some Kaby-Lake-Refresh CPU models (15 W ULV series). Technically identical to the previous Kaby-Lake GPU called HD Graphics 620.

Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.

2 kg:

2.58 kg:

With this weight, a laptop is rather heavier than average. Devices in this range shine more with screen size and performance than with mobility.

72.5%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
