There may be a phone called the Samsung Galaxy A01 coming this year
Samsung's Galaxy A line was established in 2019 to offer interesting phones at good prices. They range from the entry-level, plastic-backed A10 to the 5G-enabled A90, with others such as the A40, A50 and A30s in the middle. This combination has proven very successful, and may be built upon into its 2nd year. It will consist of successors such as the A71, A31 and A11. However, according to a new leak, it will be joined by a novel addition: the A01.
There was no A00 last year; however, this does not stop a tipster claiming that the Indian regulator BIS has approved this phone, alongside the A11 and M11. This is indicated by the model numbers SM-A115F/DS and SM-M115F/DS found in the alleged certification document, as well as one reading SM-A015G/DS. Numbers along these lines have been found to correspond to new Galaxy A phones in the past. All in all, it appears to hint at an ultra-budget new Samsung phone that is to launch in 2020.
Therefore, it appears that the Galaxy A01 really is on the way. On the other hand, the putative new phone's model number has an unusual suffix: G/DS, whereas that of the other 2 is F/DS. The latter is much more familiar and relates to regional variation. Taking this into account, the Galaxy A01 may be an India-specific release. However, it still looks a little suspicious, especially considering this leak could not be verified.
