Update: Realme has now made its inaugural Free Fire-themed Limited Edition official in Thailand. Under its revamped design, it has the exact same specs as an ordinary 8GB/256GB 9 Pro+; then again, it comes with new, exclusive customized stickers and inserts in its appropriately-styled retail box.
It is 12,499 baht (THB, or ~US$373), although it can be ordered on Shopee for an early-bird price of 11,999 THB (~$358) from April 20 to 20, 2022.
Original Article: Android smartphone brands have become very fond of their tie-ins with various content producers, studios and developers as of late; now, Realme has gotten in on this game (kind of literally) by securing a new partnership with Garena to make one of its latest smartphones Free Fire-themed.
The resulting new version of the 9 Pro+ has been re-styled with a novel colorway with lots of holographic accents and detailing such as the incorporation of the game's most recognizable weapons. Judging by its teasers, the result has the potential to eclipse even the "Light Shift" treatment of the phone's 'normal' SKUs.
Otherwise, however, there is nothing to suggest a change in specs compared to 9 Pro+ units already on the market, its OIS-enhanced main camera included. Then again, its new "limited edition" status has the potential to hike its price somewhat. Nevertheless, Realme asserts that it is ready to entice fans in Thailand to "Dare to BOOYAH!" from April 12, 2022.
The prospect seems exclusive to this market thus far; however, there are also rumors of the first-gen Realme x Free Fire smartphone coming to India as well in the near future.
