A new leak suggests that Motorola will launch the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480-powered Motorola Ibiza (Moto G40) in India first. It is slated for a February 2021 release, and will likely be unveiled alongside the similarly-specced Moto G10 and Moto G30.

We stumbled upon the Motorola Ibiza on Geekbench running a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 5G not too long ago. Geekbench appearances usually indicate that a device is in advanced stages of development. Renowned Twitter leaker @Stufflistings has received information about the Motorola Ibiza's tentative launch date. The smartphone will allegedly make its debut in India sometime in February 2021.

It is also worth noting that Ibiza is just an internal codename for the yet-to-be-released smartphone. We have a rough idea about its nomenclature thanks to yesterday's report, which talked about two low-cost Motorola smartphones (Capri and Capri Plus) launching as the Moto G10 and Moto G30. Therefore, it is reasonable to assume that the Motorola Ibiza will be a part of the new Moto G line of smartphones, likely the Moto G40.

Everything we know about the Motora Ibiza/Moto G40 so far indicates that it is an affordable smartphone. We can expect it to cost around INR 10,000 (US$137) upon launch, making it the most affordable 5G-ready smartphone in the Indian market so far. However, it shouldn't be long before Chinese OEMs such as Realme, Xiaomi, OPPO and Vivo launch a similarly-specced offering at that price point.
