Honor's launch of the 60 series involved a puzzling lack of an SE variant for the new mid-range smartphone line. Now, however, it seems the Chinese OEM intends to rectify this discrepancy in the near future. Then again, the upcoming device might offer little difference from its 50-series predecessor.
This rumor has been sparked by the appearance of what looks like a new Honor phone with the Dimensity 900 (or ARM MT6877V/ZA) platform. However, it is neither the pre-existing X30 Max or the 50 SE: their model numbers are JLH-AN00 and KKG-AN70 respectively, whereas that of this new device is GIA-AN00.
Accordingly, it is now thought to launch as the 60 SE, even though this putative update's specs have not changed; it even still has an Android 11-based ROM and 8GB of RAM, neither of which are particularly novel or special in 2022.
Nevertheless, there is a vague sign that Honor might introduce a new design with the "60 SE" at least. Nashville Chatter Class has unearthed an image purporting to show a case for the phone with cut-outs for an almost iPhone 13 Pro-clone camera hump, which would be quite a departure from the angel-eye dual module that has become an Honor x0-class staple. Therefore, its alleged next addition might just stand out with a new rear sensor set-up compared to its siblings or forebears.
