Tesla is flooding the zone with Model 3 and Model Y deals since the federal tax credit expired. After slashing the APR financing interest rate, it is now making leasing a Model Y more affordable.

The vast majority of customers lease their Tesla vehicles, and anything that the automaker is doing to make leasing more affordable is bound to make an impact.

Tesla knows that very well, and is introducing perhaps the best Model Y lease deal in a while, a zero down payment.

The new Model Y lease deal can be stacked with the free options upgrade, be it interior or exterior, such as free wheels, white leather, or tow hitch, that Tesla announced earlier.

Model Y lease price

The Model Y monthly lease now start from $479, with the heretofore required $3,000 down payment reduced to $0 for a limited time. This is for the Premium RWD versions, while the all-wheel variant can now be leased for $569 a month.

The 36-month leases require $0 down and have a 10,000 miles annual limit. The way that Tesla reached a $479 monthly lease payment for the RWD Model Y is by lowering the lease price for the vehicle and providing the $6,500 own lease credit that it introduced shortly after the government's tax credit expired.

It then stacked it with zero down payment and cautions that the lease credit is "subject to change or end at any time." The free options upgrade price is taken out of the finalized lease contracts prior to delivery and includes the following:

  • Free Pearl White Multi-Coat, Deep Blue Metallic, Diamond Black, Quicksilver or Ultra Red colors.
  • Free 20" Helix 2.0 all-season wheels
  • Free white interior with perforated vegan leather upholstery.
  • Free class II steel tow hitch rated for 3,500 lbs.
