The 2026 Model Y Juniper refresh can only be had as a $60,000 packaged Launch Series AWD trim at the moment, complete with an FSD option, as well as exclusive badging and accessories.
That is how the sales of the new Model Y started in China and Europe as well, but in those regions Tesla has long since nixed the Launch Series edition, and is now selling both RWD and AWD trims.
Those are much cheaper than the Launch Series edition that comes with the $8,000 FSD service packaged in its options mix. In China, for example, the cheapest RWD Model Y Juniper facelift starts from the equivalent of $36,350, and Tesla even throws in 0% APR financing rate to go with its purchase now.
If inventory vehicles are any indication, the EV maker might be releasing the non-Launch Series AWD and RWD Model Y Juniper refresh trims in the US very soon, too.
Tesla has now slashed the Model Y price by up to $9,200 for inventory demo units of the legacy model. A brand-new and never driven Model Y Performance unit built this year, on the other hand, has been discounted down to $36,270 without accounting for any referral credits.
Previously, those legacy Model Y discounts were about $1,000 less, but Tesla has now decided to clear its inventory parking lots completely and make room for the potential influx of Model Y Juniper refresh orders.
The move seems to be working because the brand-new Model Y units in Tesla's inventory are now few and far between, with some areas, like Washington, DC, completely sold out of anything but used Teslas.
Those living in Texas, however, still have a number of discounted Model Y units to pick from, including the afore mentioned Performance model, a trim that the Juniper refresh may not have until later in the fall.
