The way Tesla will run its ride-share service with the standalone Robotaxi and current Tesla vehicles used as Cybercabs, is slowly taking shape.

Instead of announcing a cheap Model 2, Elon Musk slated a "purpose-built" Robotaxi unveil for August 8 and teased a Cybercab service with existing Tesla fleet.

While all of this still hinges on regulatory acceptance of its autonomous driving technology, the way Tesla is about to approach its ride-share service is slowly taking shape.

Just recently, а Tesla API dive revealed a code string referring to a so-called Rider Quality Score, perhaps similar to the one Uber drivers give to their clients.

The placeholder value assigned to it reads 5, like the 1-5 scale of Uber, whose ride-share service Elon Musk referred to when he talked about the Robotaxi and Cybercab undertakings at the last earnings call.

Tesla even teased the Robotaxi interior, as well as the ride-share app interface design in a promo video released ahead of the Annual Shareholder Meeting that will be held on Thursday, June 13, and where the fate of Elon Musk's $56 billion pay package will become clear.

In it, a rider calls a self-driving Tesla Model Y that makes its way to the front of the building where she gets picked up as the sole passenger, after setting the cabin air temperature, and even the music ambience via Tesla's ride-share app.

Besides the Rider Quality Score, Tesla APIs reveal a Guest Mode that will allow the owner to restrict things like vehicle speed, glove box access, and key creation, or require PIN to Drive.

Elon teased that Tesla will own and operate the Cybercab fleet, perhaps referring to the Robotaxis, but Tesla owners will be able to pick whether to rent out their car as part of the service, comparing it to Airbnb on wheels.

Tesla is now working on niche scenarios for future FSD 12 updates, such as going down a narrow street, encountering an obstacle and backing up all on its own while warning its fleet about it, "so you don’t get a whole bunch of Teslas stuck down a road," tipped Elon Musk.
