Tesla Model 3 Highland Performance spotted in blue for the first time with new Sport wheels set

There have now been sightings of three Model 3 Highland colors - black, white, and the latest spotting in blue - indicating that Tesla might be nearing its announcement and possible release. The Highland redesign of the Model 3 brings with it a longer body and more streamlined looks thanks to new headlights and bumpers. 

The first sighting of a blue Model 3 Highland is also peculiar because it carries a different set of wheels than the standard we've seen so far on the black or white versions. The car here dons what looks like Tesla's 19" Sport Wheel and Winter Tire Package for the Model 3, just without the black hubcap with the Tesla logo on it.

Those wheels would make sense if this is the Performance version of the Model 3 Highland, as suggested by the aggressive red calipers and the Sport Wheels themselves. Unfortunately, there isn't much else to be glimpsed from this new Tesla Model 3 Highland sighting except for the new color and wheels it appears with, since the front and back are camouflaged again.

Still, the Highland once again appears with different head- and tail lights, new blinkers, and the high-res Hardware 4.0 cameras on the side, which seems to be as deep of a redesign as Tesla is going to bring. What remains now is for someone to snap a good look of the interior that should resemble the minimalist overhaul that the Model S/X underwent not long ago.

The big difference with the Model 3 Highland refresh, however, will be its production cost that should be much lower than that of the current version. Given that a stack of federal and state incentives are already bringing the base Model 3 price towards the US$25,000 sweet spot at places, its Highland refresh could result in even greater savings as well as record profits for Tesla.
