Tesla Cybertruck rescues stuck Toyota Tacoma off-roader from challenging mud puddle after overcoming it with ease
Ever since the Tesla Cybertruck hit the streets, the contentious pick-up truck has been no stranger to controversies. Its owners have left almost no stone unturned in testing out its abilities, all the way from long-distance towing to competing in tractor pulls. So far, the performance of the Cybertruck has been a mixed bag, to say the least.
The Cybertruck is undoubtedly a very powerful vehicle. However, the electric pick-up is plagued by poor range while towing or hauling heavy items, making it extremely cumbersome for any kind of long-distance professional use. That being said, the Cybertruck is by no means a slouch when it comes to raw power and has performed admirably in several capability tests, even defeating diesel-guzzling pickup trucks in tractor-pull challenges.
Recently, Teslarati reported a video of a Tesla Cybertruck easing through a relatively deep mud puddle on an off-road track, courtesy of Andrew Hodgon who shared it on a Cybertruck Facebook group. The video portrays the Cybertruck defeating the mud puddle in its third attempt, after two failed attempts wherein the truck was unable to make it all the way through but did manage to back out of the puddle on its own.

Judging by the successful attempt's video, the Cybertruck, which was fitted with mud terrain tires, was able to make use of its superb acceleration, and approached the puddle at a very high speed, giving it a generous amount of some much-needed momentum. According to the owner, the Cybertruck was the only vehicle apart from a lifted Jeep Wrangler that was able to overpower the puddle that day. Moreover, as pointed out by Teslarati, the Cybertruck also helped out a Toyota off-roader, which got stuck while attempting to best the puddle.
Now, of course - a Cybertruck defeating a treacherous mud puddle on an off-road track is by no means the be-all and end-all of performance. The electric pickup's limited range is by far its biggest drawback for any kind of professional use that involves towing or hauling over long distances. Further, the Cybertruck has been saddled by build-quality issues, some of which have even required mass recalls.
But despite its many drawbacks and inarguably polarising design, the Cybertruck's impressive performance is only a testament to the many ways in which EV powertrains are superior to those of ICEs. With improvements to build quality and range, it should not be surprising at all to witness the Tesla Cybertruck becoming an easy-to-recommend pickup truck with acceleration that mimics a sports car.
