Tesla wrapped up the final week of Q3 2025 in China with 19,300 new insurance registrations between September 22 and 28. According to insights shared on X by Roland Pircher (@piloly), who usually analyzes Tesla data, the figure marked an 11.9% increase from the prior week’s 17,300 units. It represented the highest weekly result of the quarter.
For the full quarter, Tesla recorded 66,250 registrations in China. Although the figure is 8.7% below Q3 2024, it marks a 26.9% improvement over Q2 2025. Year-to-date, Tesla is still tracking 6.4% lower than last year, but last week ranked as its third-strongest week of 2025.
The best-selling car of the week was the new six-seat Model Y L, which was launched in China on August 19 and began deliveries in early September. The extended-wheelbase variant contributed around 4,000 registrations last week, which was about 20% of Tesla’s total. With delivery timelines on Tesla China’s website now pushed to November, demand for the family-focused crossover appears steady.
If the pace continues, the Model Y L could play an important role heading into Q4, particularly as Tesla ramps up production at Giga Shanghai.
