Team Group has introduced a new portable storage drive, the PD40 Mini External SSD. It comes with USB4 connectivity, but is also compatible with USB 3.2 and USB 2.0 devices. Nonetheless, with the faster Type-C port, the company claims that it can offer read speeds of up to 4,000 MB/s.
As for the size, it's in line with the name of this external SSD. Team Group says that the portable drive is only 15.2 mm thin and weighs 22 grams, making it easy to fit in pockets. The company also highlights the IP54 rating, making the portable SSD capable of handling "everyday environments."
Regarding storage options, the PD40 Mini External SSD is available in three capacities: 1 TB, 2 TB, and 4 TB. All of them have the same rated read and write speeds, with the sequential write speed standing at up to 3,500 MB/s.
Other highlights include compatibility with multiple operating systems and a sleek design. Team Group has yet to share pricing and availability details of the PD40 Mini External SSD.
