Tablet-optimized Twitter app for Android finds its way online
Samsung briefly displayed a tablet-optimized version of Twitter at IFA when they showed off the new Note 10.1 and antsy folks can get their hands on the application today. During IFA it wasn't made clear whether the images were manufactured by Samsung's design team or Twitter themselves, but we now know the truth.
With Apple's iPad having an official Twitter app for a while now, it's about time Android tablets joined the party, courtesy of the folks over at AndroidNext. The website managed to get their hands on the Twitter APK installer, allowing users to manually side load the tablet-optimized app. The software also completely replaces the previous Twitter application, making it an official release, though 7" tablets seem to have some difficulties with the layout.
Although we don't have an official date for when the app will make its way to the Google Play store, this tablet version appears to be a major improvement over the previous, unoptimized release. Users looking to make the switch immediately can find the download in the source links below, but as always, caution should be exercised with unofficial APKs.
