Deal | Sweet Google Pixel 8 offer drops price by massive 29% and bundles a free Pixel Watch

Google unveiled the latest Pixel 9 smartphone last month at a starting price of $799 or $100 more than the launch MSRP of the Pixel 8. However, as we noted in our launch coverage, the Pixel 9 is an incremental upgrade over the Pixel 8. As such, some fans may be apprehensive about the $100 price increase.

If you are one such fan, you might want to consider the Pixel 8 which is currently retailing for only $499 on Amazon. The unlocked unit on sale is $200 cheaper than the $699 list price and boasts $300 savings over the Pixel 9.

Sweetening the deal even more, the Pixel 8 on sale comes bundled with a first-gen Pixel Watch at no extra cost.

Google Pixel 8

Launched last year, the Pixel 8 is still an excellent phone by almost all metrics. This fact is quite evident in our review. We gave the device a “very good” rating of 89% owing to its compact chassis, bright 120 Hz OLED panel, and smooth performance courtesy of the Tensor G3 SoC. Additionally, Google has promised to support the Pixel 8 till 2030 with OS as well as security updates.

Keeping with the tradition of Pixel smartphones, the Pixel 8 also boasts a stellar camera as the smartphone is only beaten by the Pixel 9 in DXOMark’s Premium Ranking. So, you can expect the Pixel 8 to deliver pleasing photos in almost all lighting conditions.

Google Pixel Watch

Although the OG Pixel Watch had its fair share of cons, the Pixel Watch was a good first attempt by Google. The smartwatch has a modern design with a size suitable for small wrists. It also features a plethora of health features courtesy of Google’s acquisition of Fitbit.

For instance, the Pixel Watch 1 can track your movements across a variety of activities like biking, swimming, running, etc. The Pixel Watch also has sleep tracking as well as hear rate monitoring including support for taking ECGs.

So, save for short battery life, the Pixel Watch should be a reliable companion to the Pixel 8.
