ZTE’s Optik tablet is already being sold by Sprint for a heavily subsidized price of $99, and it’s about to get even cheaper. Based on information gleaned by Technobuffalo and The Verge, Sprint is looking to entice potential customers by bundling smartphones and tablets together.
Starting on August 12th and running through the 30th of September, customers who purchase a smartphone from Sprint will be eligible to receive a free ZTE Optik tablet. The offer does have its caveats though, as users will be forced to commit to 2 year contracts on both the tablet and smartphone. Nonetheless, this still represents a $99 discount on the Optik, and buyers looking for a bundle deal could be interested.
ZTE’s Optik tablet was introduced earlier this year, and is aimed at budget buyers with a non-subsidized, retail price of just $250. The device features a 1.2GHz CPU, 1GB of RAM and runs Android 3.2 but remains less popular than other 7” tablets such as the Kindle Fire and Nexus 7.
