Teaser
The recently announced 2012 Spring Refresh will affect the company’s Z, S, E and C VAIO notebooks

The Japanese manufacturer, Sony, has announced that its VAIO laptops will be receiving a 2012 Spring “refresh”. Reportedly, the VAIO Z, S and E Series will come with new CPUs accompanied by other component updates, whereas the C Series will offer some new designs. Furthermore, the Sony Store team promises to give away a free gift (free laptop sleeve) with every purchase of a VAIO C Series notebook.

VAIO Z Series

The ultra-portable 13-inch VAIO Z will be available in a new color design, called Carbon Fiber Silver and will house a built-in Verizon 4G LTE antenna. In addition, it will be powered by a second generation Sandy Bridge Intel Core i5-2450M central processing unit (Core i7 options are also available) and will have a starting price of $1949.99. According to the maker, the price is inclusive of Sony’s Power Media Dock, which packs a Blu-ray optical drive and an AMD Radeon HD 6650M graphics controller with 1GB of dedicated DDR3 VRAM.

VAIO S and E Series

All VAIO S and E notebooks will reportedly receive faster Sandy Bridge CPUs. Moreover, customers will be provided with new Hybrid Graphics options (on the S Series) in form of an AMD Radeon HD 6470M (512MB VRAM) or AMD Radeon HD 6630M (1GB VRAM). The 15-inch VAIO S will presumably be equipped with an IPS (for improved viewing) Full HD widescreen display that has a native resolution of 1920-by-1080 pixels. The 13-inch and the 15-inch S Series laptops will be available in early February priced at $799.99 and $979.99, respectively.

VAIO C Series

The C Series models will be offered with new designs. Users will supposedly be able to choose between the so-called Kaleidoscope Pink model inspired by an Art Nouveau floral pattern and the Geometric Black model that features shapes and shadows in various tones spread on the top case and the keyboard area.
