Sony VAIO notebooks typically give off more style compared to some competitors, but are normally priced higher than those same competitors as well. The new VPCEL22FX/B EL series model, however, has launched for a bargain price.
The 15.5-inch notebook includes AMD’s dual-core E-450 CPU with integrated Radeon 6320 graphics, 4GB RAM, 1366x768 resolution screen, 320GB HDD, webcam and a DVD writer. Connectivity options include 4x USB 2.0 ports, HDMI, VGA, multi-card reader and Gigabit Ethernet. It would have definitely been nice if a USB 3.0 port was thrown in, but that may have been asking for too much.
Being a budget notebook, expect a larger than average girth and design as the notebook weighs 6 pounds (2.72kg) and is 1.5-inches (38.1mm) thick. Battery life is unlisted on the official product page. Still, the textured build does at least make it a bit more visually appealing than other competing 15.6-inch budget notebooks.
The notebook is available now in the U.S. for just $349.
