Asus X54L-BBK4 budget notebook now available in U.S.

The wallet-friendly X54L-BBK4 from Asus is now on sale in the U.S.

The 15.6-inch notebook is equipped with a 2.2GHz Core i3-2330M CPU, integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000, 1366x768 resolution display, 4GB RAM, VGA-out, 500GB HDD, DVD writer, multi-card reader, 1x USB 3.0 and 2x USB 2.0 ports. Being a full-sized budget notebook, don’t expect something too impressive in terms of weight and dimensions, as the X54L is 5.8 pounds (2.63kg) and 1.4 inches (3.56cm) thick. Battery life is not listed on the product page, but if we were to guess, the included 4-cell battery module will likely only last around 4 hours or so of continuous use.

As mentioned on laptoping, a similar model called the X54HY with discrete Radeon HD 6470M graphics will also be made available for those looking for better gaming performance, an HDMI port and additional CPU options. Otherwise, the chassis appears to be the same matte build as the X54L.

The budget Asus notebook is now available through Best Buy for $429. As for the X54HY, this specific model is yet to be available online.
