The Sony Xperia Z1S is rumored to be the upcoming international version of the Xperia Z1 SO-01F, a handset which will be carried by NTT DoCoMo and is expected to launch in Japan before the end of the year. This handset has the same hardware specs as the notorious Xperia Z1 "Honami" including the chipset and camera but sports a smaller 4.3-inch display and a 2,300 mAh embedded battery.
Yesterday, a picture of the Xperia Z1S was briefly spotted on the official Sony Mobile website. Unfortunately, the image did not link to a page showing the details of the handset but is is highly probable that this handset will have the same specs as the SO-01F.
These specs include a quad-core 2.2 GHz Snapdragon 800 processor paired with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage, Qi wireless charging, NFC and the 20.1 MP "G Lens" camera capable of shooting 4K videos.
The chassis of the Sony Xperia Z1S/Z1 SO-01F measures 2.56X5X0.37 inches, enough for a 4.3-inch display sporting 720X1,280 pixels. The handset weighs 0.31 pounds, while the full size Xperia Z1 has 0.36 pounds.
Sony did not comment anything on this but since the handset was removed from its website it is possible to get an official statement regarding the pricing and availability of the device in the coming weeks.
