While their successor seems to be performing well (and is also currently discounted by 25%, falling from $399.99 to $299.99), with over 1,000 units sold in the last month on Amazon, the Sony WH-1000XM4 wireless noise-cancelling over-ear headphones have managed to break the 8,000 units sold barrier in the same period. Thanks to a generous 43% discount, those interested can get the Sony WH-1000XM4 for $198, which is the all-time low price for them, and, according to Amazon price tracker Camelcamelcamel, it was last week when this product fell below the $200 threshold for the first time.

Being released in 2020, the Sony WH-1000XM4 are sadly limited to Bluetooth 5.0. However, they support SBC, AAC, LDAC, and even wired playback, providing excellent noise cancelling and very good sound quality across multiple scenarios. Just like their successor, they feature Bluetooth multipoint. The pricier Sony WH-1000XM5, on the other hand, add an improved microphone, multiple features in the companion app, including a custom equalizer, as well as Bluetooth 5.2 with the same connectivity options.

The aforementioned deal applies to all three color choices that Sony provides for the WH-1000XM4, namely black, blue, and silver. Those looking for a good alternative to the WH-1000XM4 and WH-1000XM5 can go for the Bose Headphones 700 in black, currently down 8% to $349. However, they would have to increase their budget and, in the end, the $198 Sony WH-1000XM4 remains one of the best deals to take advantage of right now.
