Back in early July of 2016, Snapchat announced the Memories feature, which allows users to find the old content they have posted. While Snapchat Memories are not available to other users for viewing, the amount of storage space available for them was not capped until this month. Now, free users get up to 5 GB, after which they need to grab one of the three paid plans.
These are the three Snapchat paid storage plans available right now, the amount of space provided by each, and their prices:
- Snapchat Memories introductory plan, with 100 GB for $1.99 a month.
- Snapchat+ plan, offering 250 GB for $3.99.
- Snapchat Platinum, which provides up to an impressive 5 TB of storage space, but for a monthly cost of $15.99.
On the bright side, it should be highlighted that free users who use more than 5 GB for their Memories will get 12 months of temporary storage, so they can download their content or move to a paid plan until next September. However, while all old Snaps are safe, the new ones will be deleted until a storage plan with enough space for all is acquired.
Snapchat has over 900 million active monthly users, with the top two countries being India (210 million) and the US (105 million). The number of daily active users is also impressive, sitting at roughly 460 million.
