SCHENKER XMG Pro 17 Series

SCHENKER XMG Pro 17 E22

Just like the saying, ‘don’t judge the book by its cover’, Schenker XMG Pro 17 PB71RD-G has more than what is being shown by its rather plain, laid back physical presentation. While most high-end laptops try to lure customer’s attention with its rather extravagant design, XMG Pro 17 has opted to win people’s heart through its performance rather than appealing design. This model definitely has a lot of potential hidden within it in terms of its performance. While it is undeniable that the outer look does matter in user selection, it is definitely not the only deciding factor when it comes to choosing the best laptop out there.

First of all, XMG Pro 17 is not just any standard ordinary laptop but rather a gaming laptop. While there aren’t much fancy details in relation to the design, the overall quality of the chassis is good. In addition to the cover, the top of the base unit also consists of metal. There is obviously nothing to fuss about regarding the built quality of this laptop and its rigidity. It is definitely winning hearts with its rather simple but compact look. However, if there is anything that needs tweaking in XMG Pro 17, it has to be the keyboard. The keyboard can be accepted in terms of its simple presentation but the rigidity of it has to be improved in order to withstand the wear and tear. Generally, the keyboard does play a major role in gaming laptops. Therefore, it needs to be able to perform to the extent needed, in which XMG Pro 17 has a rather decent keyboard but a little improvement would not be so bad either.

The biggest wow factor of this laptop has to be its wide port selection that has been incorporated within the model. XMG Pro 17 provides a single HDMI and Mini DisplayPort along with two USB Type-C 3.1 Gen2 ports which includes a Thunderbolt 3 port and a DisplayPort. While the Thunderbolt 3 allows connection to a more powerful external GPU, the overall outlay of ports allows connection to literally up to four monitors. These features are definitely a drool-worthy type of inclusion for all the gamers by heart. Most of the time, when it comes to gaming laptops, users not only look into the features but rather on the experience that the whole laptop caters for. If the laptop can be connected to a maximum of four monitors, without any doubt there is definitely an immersive expensive experience for users in it.

Apart from the features mentioned above, Schenker also covers the users of XMG Pro 17 with a base warranty period of 24 months which can be extended up to three years depending on the user’s choice and preferences while purchasing the product. In addition, there is also an option for extending the fast repair service. Therefore, if there is any issue with the product after purchase, it can be dealt with immediately.

SCHENKER XMG Pro 17

The XMG Pro 17 is a well-endowed 17-inch gaming machine, which succeeds in balancing power and mobility far better than many other high-end laptops. While most people have to choose between a gaming notebook that supports either G-Sync (smooth image) or Optimus (longer battery life), the XMG Pro 17 supports both Nvidia technologies at the same time. Schenker Technologies XMG Pro 17 steps up with a design height of 2.5 cm (0.98 inch), which makes it quite slim for a 17-inch high-end notebook. The weight of 3.1 kg (6.8 lbs), in the 17-inch category, is also below average. In terms of technology, the XMG Pro 17 relies mostly on components from Intel and Nvidia. The laptop is equipped with the Core i7-7700HQ, which is a powerful Kaby Lake-based quad-core processor that can handle eight threads at the same time, thanks to its Hyper-threading capabilities. Complete with a Samsung SSD 960 Evo 500GB m.2 NVMe, Seagate BarraCuda ST1000LM048 1 TB HDD and 32 GB (2x16GB DDR4-2400) RAM, the XMG Pro 17 belongs to the high-end niche of the notebook market. As for the GPU, it has a GeForce GTX 1070 with 8 GB of GDDR5 VRAM. When gaming, a user should put the laptop into G-Sync mode. However, when a user is not gaming, then it is a good idea to use the Optimus Technology option so that an appropriate graphics adapter can be utilized in every situation. Schenker Technologies relies on the high-quality AU Optronics IPS panel with the designation B173ZAN01.0, which has already impressed with its great color-space coverage in the XMG U727 and the Acer Aspire V17 Nitro BE. Those who prefer a high pixel density and are not put off by a hefty surcharge are going to be quite happy with the 4K display. The display has a resolution of 3.840 x 2.160 pixels. Thanks to its great color space coverage, the 4K display represents another reason to buy. The IPS panel comes with one disadvantage, which is its modest response times. At 25 ms for black to white and 44 ms for gray to gray, this panel performs considerably worse than TN-based displays. Thanks to Nvidia’s Optimus Technology (which enables automatic switching between a dedicated and an integrated graphics adapter) the battery life of the XMG Pro 17 can give the competition a run for its money. 3 hours and 38 minutes while surfing the web and 3 hours and 42 minutes in video playback is acceptable for a gaming notebook. Despite its kinship to the Defiance IV, the XMG Pro 17 offers a significantly better sound quality. This can be attributed to Creative Labs’ software, which was not pre-installed in the notebook from PC Zentrum. Thanks to the Sound Blaster technology, audio content sounds either passable or good. 83.2% Schenker XMG Pro 17 (Clevo PB71RD-G) Laptop Review: Temperature vs. Noise | Notebookcheck
While numerous high-end laptops attempt to appeal to customers with extravagant designs, the XMG Pro 17 from Schenker Technologies appears very laid back visually. However, a lot of performance potential hides under the hood. In this review, we take a closer look at the 17-inch model.

84.7% Schenker XMG Pro 17 with RTX 3080 (Clevo PC70HS) review: A throttled ultra-slim gaming laptop and workstation in one | Notebookcheck
Like its 15-inch sibling model, the new XMG Pro 17 also comes in an ultra-slim case, while still bringing an RTX 3080. To avoid potential problems with the cooling system, Schenker throttles this. We find out in this test, whether this concept succeeds and why the slim high-performance laptop is more of a workstation than a gaming device.

85.4% Schenker XMG Pro 17 E22 review: Gaming laptop with RTX 3080 Ti delivers the goods | Notebookcheck
The Intel Core i9-12900H, which is already powerful on its own, is not only supported by Nvidia's premium graphics card. The extensive connectivity and a very distinct cooling system also indicate that the laptop is striving for the highest performance. However, Schenker probably has another reason for calling the laptop a gaming workstation, and this also became noticeable in our review.
