Pokémon Unite ends service on March 23, 2027. Aeos gem sales have stopped, a Library feature arrives November 12, and the Aeos Crown finals will go ahead in Tokyo.

The Pokémon Company has announced that Pokémon Unite will end service on March 23, 2027, at 00:00 UTC. The shutdown covers both the Nintendo Switch and mobile versions of the free-to-play MOBA, which TiMi Studio Group developed. Pokémon Unite launched on Switch on July 21, 2021, and reached iOS and Android on September 22 of that year, so it will close after more than five and a half years.

Purchases stopped on October 27

Sales of Aeos gems were suspended on October 27, 2026, and the game no longer sells new Pokémon Unite Club memberships. Automatic renewals are suspended as well. Players can keep spending any gems they already own until the servers close, and current Pokémon Unite Club members keep their benefits until their membership period ends. The official notice does not give a reason for the shutdown.

Farewell update and library feature

A final update arrives on November 12, 2026, with a special event that lets players obtain items such as Pokémon Unite licenses and Holowear. It also adds a Library feature. Players who complete the required library data download before the service ends can open it afterward to view certain records and in-game content. Anyone who misses the download loses access to it, and Library data generally cannot be transferred when changing devices. After March 23, players can no longer log in or take part in battles.

Competitive play finishes first

The Pokémon Company says the Pokémon Unite Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo tournament will still go ahead. Online regional qualifiers begin on December 5, 2026, and 32 teams will compete in the Tokyo finals on March 20 and 21, 2027, for a total prize pool of $1 million. The finals end two days before the servers shut down.

Background to the decision

The announcement follows Pokémon Unite’s removal from the 2027 Pokémon World Championships, which The Pokémon Company confirmed in July 2026 when it announced the standalone Aeos Crown event. Zeta Division, the 2026 world champion, is invited directly to the Aeos Crown finals. Separately, in September 2024, the company announced that Unite would end service in Belgium and the Netherlands on November 30, 2025. It did not give a reason for that decision.
