Genshin Impact 7.2 Hour of Ruin arrives November 4 with a new Snezhnaya region, a new Archon Quest, and the playable debut of Electro characters Mitya and Valeriy.

Genshin Impact Version 7.2, titled “Hour of Ruin,” launches on November 4. The update opens a new region in eastern Snezhnaya and adds Mitya and Valeriy to the playable roster.

Archon Quest and Holy Soil crisis

The new Archon Quest follows the Nails of Retribution as their energy fluctuations grow more violent. Pillars of light appear across Teyvat and trigger the Holy Soil phenomenon, plunging each nation into crisis. The Tsaritsa convenes a gathering in Snezhnaya with representatives from all seven nations, and players join the Archons, Neuvillette, and other allies to stop it.

Completing the quest within the designated period grants 560 Primogems and Character Ascension Materials for Mitya. The Secret Tsarist Assignments offer more rewards, including a Snezhnaya-themed Wind Glider. A limited-time event unlocks as the quest progresses, where players rescue wounded soldiers, relay intel, and carry out urgent assignments to contain the crisis. Rewards include Primogems and the chance to invite a 4-star character of choice. A filming event in Snezhnaya and a mining challenge in Natlan add variety.

Eastern Snezhnaya

Players board a railway to Novokitezhgrad, Snezhnaya’s main producer of Kresnik Kristall. The city is built entirely underground and encased in the material. Farther east, Wingspan Peak unfurls like a giant wing and holds Old Kitezhgrad, the nation’s first city, founded by the Belyi Tsar. Players clear contaminated Kresnik Kristall deposits using new Prime Ice Constructs and two elemental shotguns. A colossal creature from the ocean depths also awaits challengers in Novokitezhgrad.

Two new Meeting Point quests follow Danica on a cleanup assignment for the Tsaritsa and Mitya as he investigates the soil near Teplo Oasis. Their paths cross along the way.

Mitya and Valeriy

Mitya is a 5-star Electro Catalyst wielder who converts the team’s Superconduct reactions into Stellar-Conduct reactions and boosts the party’s Stellar-Conduct DMG. Valeriy is a 4-star Electro Sword wielder who provides shields and boosts Electro DMG, particularly for Stellar-Conduct teams.

Phase 1 Event Wishes features Mitya and Valeriy alongside a Furina rerun. Phase 2 brings back Zibai and Linnea, with a new Chronicled Wish featuring certain Natlan characters.

Miliastra Wonderland and platforms

Miliastra Wonderland adds a masquerade-themed lobby, a free 4-star cosmetic set, and expanded components, assets, and stage editing features. Genshin Impact is free to play on PlayStation 5, Xbox, PC, Android, and iOS, with cross-progression and co-op support.
