Samsung is reportedly developing the firmware for a US version of the Galaxy A56, hinting at the phone eventually being officially sold in North America. However, there are no details yet about availability and pricing.

The Galaxy A54 5G was the last Galaxy A5x model sold in the US, and despite its success, Samsung chose not to sell the Galaxy A55 5G in the region. That seems to be the case with the Galaxy A56 5G too, considering the Galaxy A16 5G, Galaxy A26 5G, and Galaxy A36 5G are available to buy in the country. However, a new report says the Galaxy A56 might eventually get an official US release.

According to a report by GSMArena citing unnamed sources, Samsung has begun developing a firmware for the US version of the Galaxy A56. This variant is reported to have the model number 'SM-A566U1'. Unfortunately, there is no info on when the phone will be announced. Nevertheless, whenever Samsung chooses to announce it, the Galaxy A56 will be facing some serious competition.

The Galaxy A36 costs $399.99, so the Galaxy A56 5G is expected to have a starting price of at least $499.99. At that price, it will have to contend with rivals such as the Pixel 9a which also starts at $499 but is currently $449 on Amazon. There's also the Nothing Phone (3a) Pro which can be purchased directly from Nothing for $459.

Hopefully, Samsung can counteract this with a combination of launch discounts and pre-order perks that will make the Galaxy A56 enticing to buyers.
