Samsung promised to keep up with Google's monthly security updates, and it looks like they are doing everything right for now. The company has just announced this month's security update for quite a few flagships, and the new software is already rolling to these handsets.
The Android flagships that receive the update are these: Galaxy S5, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Active, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 5. According to the official blog post about this update, the package includes patches from both Google and Samsung. In addition to the fixes provided by Google, Samsung Mobile solves 7 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures as well. A few of these issues have not been disclosed to the public yet.
Now that Samsung issued this update, we should see major carriers deliver their custom updates by the end of the month as well. We will get back to the updates for Samsung flagships as soon as that happens, so stay tuned.
